Andexxa Side Effects DVT and PE; Andexxa Legal Compensation Claims

November 2, 2026 By Law Offices of Thomas J. Lamb, P.A.

Case reports of serious Andexxa side effects, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), resulted in the FDA starting a drug safety investigation in November 2024. The issue was whether there was an apparent increased rate of Andexxa-related blood clots, which can lead to DVT and/or PE, as well as clotting-related deaths, compared with other means to reverse anticoagulation. For more details, see this November 21, 2024 Drug Injury Watch article, “Do Andexxa Risks Outweigh Benefits Given Increased Rate of Thrombosis and Thrombosis-Related Deaths?”

About a year later, in December 2025, Andexxa (andexanet) was removed from the US market in an Andexxa drug recall by AstraZeneca.

Despite the Andexxa recall, cases of Andexxa side effects diagnosed before December 2025 remain eligible for Andexxa legal compensation claims and can be filed in 2026 or 2027.

Andexxa was intended to help with life-threatening or uncontrolled bleeding. In particular, Andexxa was administered to patients using Eliquis (apixaban) or Xarelto (rivaroxaban) for the immediate reversal of anticoagulation in life-threatening, urgent situations.

Andexxa Legal Compensation Claims

Our law firm is investigating possible Andexxa legal compensation claims involving a deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a pulmonary embolism (PE), or another serious blood-clot medical condition after a person was given Andexxa to reverse anticoagulation.

These Andexxa legal compensation claims would be filed against AstraZeneca, the pharmaceutical company that makes Andexxa. However, the doctors who ordered Andexxa would not be named as Defendants in these Andexxa DVT and PE cases because the Andexxa drug label did not have any warnings about an increased risk of Andexxa-related blood clots, which can lead to DVT and/or PE.

If you have a possible Andexxa legal compensation claim, we want to make you aware of our free and confidential review service. You can submit an Andexxa Blood Clots Case Evaluation Form online, or call 910-256-2971 to discuss the facts of the Andexxa case with drug injury lawyer Tom Lamb.

We will continue to monitor the medical literature for new case reports about Andexxa side effects (DVT, PE, blood clots) and watch for Andexxa legal compensation claims that are being filed in 2026 and 2027.
